Synthesis, Spectroscopic, Molecular Modeling and Anti-Fungal Studies of Some Divalent Metal Complexes of 4-Hydroxyacetophenone Isonicotinoyl Hydrazone

A novel ligand N-4-hydroxyacetophenone isonicotinoyl hydrazone and its manganese(II) nickel(II) metal complexes have been synthesized. The synthesized Schiff base characterized by physical state determination, melting point solubility measurements in different solvents, infrared, proton nuclear magnetic resonance, mass spectrometric powder X-ray spectroscopic techniques. thermal properties of the prepared compounds were obtained from TG/DTG measurements. On basis analytical techniques, was found to be bidentate nature coordinating ions through azomethine nitrogen carbonyl oxygen atoms leading distorted octahedral geometries which modeled using MM2 force field. metal(II) evaluated for antifungal activity against Aspergillus fumigatus, niger, Candida albicans Rhizopus stolonifera. evaluation results revealed an enhanced upon coordination with ions. complex tested fungal strains order Ni(II) > Mn(II).
